Successful Field Day on August 9, 2023

This week we had the opportunity to partner with Big Yield to host an event. We wanted to show our customers and growers our appreciation for them and everything they do. To do this, we held Field Day on August 9. Big Yield kicked off the event, and Native Prairie Hemp wrapped it up. It began at 3pm with registration in The Cider House in Garden City, Missouri. While people showed up, we got to chat with new, interesting people before the event began.

John Ortiz from Big Yield hosted experts to speak about regenerative agriculture and Big Yield products. They demonstrated the differences that products can make on crops and soil. Later, they showed a drone spraying the fields with their products, and at dinner, they gave away products via raffle. Shown below are pictures featuring different speakers, farmers, and customers in attendance.

After the speakers and demonstration, we returned to The Cider House for a delicious barbecue dinner, featuring pulled pork, smoked turkey, cheesy potatoes, beans, and even a hemp seed oil dressing for the salad (made with our hemp seed oil from Hempy’s Heart). Later, those who were interested in hemp or Native Prairie joined us at our building to hear from speakers. Major players in the upcoming hemp industry joined us, including: Sarah Stephens from Midwest Hemp Technology and Hempy’s Heart, Dale Ludwig from Elevation Ag, Sakina Mahdi from Lincoln University, Scott Evans from Panda Biotech, Corbett Miteff from KonopiUS, and Kevin Halderman from Hemp Hemp Hooray.  We had experts that specialize in seed genetics, cultivation, production, research, and retail. Later, the head of our grower program Tyler Knight spoke about our goals for hemp cultivation in the future. A lot of interesting, valuable information was presented that night. Due to the weather and mud, we couldn’t give field tours, but we got to give a “virtual hemp field tour.” We would love to host an in-person tour of our plots for anyone interested, especially since we didn’t have the opportunity on Field Day.
